Goplani’s house
- This project presented a unique architectural challenge—our client approached us after the plinth and all columns were already constructed. They were unhappy with the previous layout and elevation. As architects, we had to work smartly within the constraints of the existing structural framework, without changing the core foundation or column placements.
- Our first goal was to rework the internal layout to achieve better functionality and openness, optimizing space usage floor by floor. We studied the structural grid in depth and designed a plan that respected the column positions while fulfilling the client’s new requirements. Every space bedrooms, living areas, balcony was carefully aligned to bring maximum light, ventilation, and privacy.
- On the elevation side, we chose a modern minimalist style using soft beige tones, natural stone cladding, and sleek MS railings to bring elegance. The key feature was the vertical jaali element which not only added aesthetics but also improved the ventilation and broke the boxy feel of the structure. The curved balcony softened the facade and created a welcoming presence.
- Despite the restrictions, we turned the challenge into a design opportunity, creating a house that feels intentional, modern, and rooted in smart architectural adaptation. This project proves that creativity can thrive within limitations.
